Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation for laying of a gas pipeline to Dehradun on November 22. The Prime Minister will do this from the national Capital while the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and others will do the same in the State. With this project people will not have to face inconvenience to refill their cylinder because they would get consistent supply without any hindrance.
As the State is celebrating the 18th anniversary of its foundation, the Central Government announced a major development for Uttarakhand.
Union government will be starting work on laying of a gas pipeline in Uttarakhand. In the first phase the pipeline will be laid from Haridwar to Dehradun. PM will lay the foundation for this work at a function in Delhi while I along with my colleagues will do so in Uttarakhand.
This work to be completed in next 24 months. It will enable supply of cooking gas to homes and do away with the need for gas cylinders. Further, compressed natural gas (CNG) will also be made available for vehicular use in the city. This will enable environmental protection through drastic reduction in pollution with more vehicles running on CNG, he said.
It should be mentioned here that the pipeline will be laid as part of the city gas distribution project. It will facilitate supply of CNG for vehicular use and piped natural gas (PNG) for domestic use.
