Actor Shahid Kapoor’s Twitter and Instagram accounts were hacked on Thursday afternoon and appear to have been restored now. Shahid Kapoor posted this message for his fans on Twitter: “Hey guys, finally I am back on twitter. Yes it was hacked. Kindly ignore any communication that came from my handle in the last 24 hours”

The first posts to have been shared when Shahid’s accounts were hijacked were related to the actor’s last film release “Padmaavat” – criticising the portrayal of Alauddin Khilji, who was of part Turkish descent – were shared along with text in what appears to be Turkish. The hackers appear to be the Turkish cyber outfit Ayyildiz Tim, who are also believed to have attacked the accounts of Abhishek Bachchan, Anupam Kher and others some months ago.
