India-Nepal Friendship Half Marathon Race was held on Sunday on Friendship Day by SSB. In which 335 runners from India and Nepal participated. Inspector general in charge of SSB, who came to Ranikhet braving the heavy rains, Manmohan Kapadal and Nepal’s APF DIG Nagendra Bahadur Thapa started the race with a green flag.
Half Marathon race started at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. The race, starting from SSB camp in Banbasa, ended with the NHPC at Tankpur Barrage, on SSB camp. In the mens category of the Half Marathon race, , Vishnu Nandan Rathore RC of Arm Regiment was first; Mohan Saini, student of Kashi resident, got second position and Krishna Singh of Ranikhet got third position. In the women category, Arpita Saini, a student of Muzaffarnagar University was first, Renu Singh, a student of first semester of MA of Amroha UP was second and Neha, a student of Kashipur got third place. Inspector In-charge General Manmohan Kandpal and Nepal APF DIG Nagendra Bahadur Thapa jointly rewarded the runners. On this occasion, DIG Thapa thanked the SSB for organizing the friendship run and said such programs are essential for strengthening the relations between India and Nepal.
