CM reviews disaster affected districts situation

To review the situation in the disaster sensitive district of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Tehri Garhwal and Pauri Garhwal CM Trivendra singh Rawat conducted meeting through the video conferencing at Secretariat on Wednesday. Chief Minister took the information from the District Magistrates about the progress pertaining to the disbursal of the compensation amount to those affected and building damaged compensation etc. He instructed that in case of any disaster, officers should remain alert for Minimum Response Time. The Minimum Response Time Monitoring will be monitored in any disaster.

Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the efforts made by the district administration for the minimization the effect of the disaster in the affected areas by the district administration and issued instruction for ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and keeping drinking water supply, health and power supply regular in the district. Chief Minister gave instructions to Principal Secretary Food to increase the quota of kerosene in view of the rain. He instructed to keep an eye on health facilities in the districts. He said that acknowledgement of timely action during the disaster by the administration teams by the legislators shows that the government has undertaken relief work in a speedy manner during the disaster. He said that during the disaster, the affected remote motorway Jauljivi-Madkot-Munsiyari has been partially opened and National Highways and State Highways affected by the rain in the sensitive districts have also been opened. He instructed to keep supply of food items in abundance in food warehouses. During the review, the District Magistrates informed that food is available till September.

Yamunotri MLA Mr. Kedar Singh Rawat welcomed the decision of the Chief Minister that owners of the completely damaged shops, commercial establishments, for the shop/establishment (structure) for livelihood and building owner of fully/acutely damaged residential buildings due to disaster should be provided assistance of Rs 1 lakh from the Chief Minister Relief Fund.

During the review of the District Uttarkashi, on the proposal to increasing the standards of disaster by Gangotri MLA  Gopal Singh Rawat, Chief Minister directed the Secretary, Disaster Management  Amit Singh Negi to send a proposed to centre to increase the standards of assistance being given in case the land and houses gets washed away. He instructed the committee to get determined the wire crate proposal of Yamunotri MLA  Kedar Singh Rawat for stopping erosion of Yamunotri route. During the review, Chief Minister also got information about the quality of food grains supplied to the districts and also on public health related issues.

Through the video conferencing, Bageshwar MLA Chandan Ram Das and Tehri MLA Dhan Singh Negi asked from the districts suggestions pertaining to the disaster and the District Magistrates of Uttarkashi, Bageshwar and Rudraprayag informed the Chief Minister about the road, irrigation, drinking water and power supply, affected by the disaster in their respective districts. It was informed by the District Magistrates that the main roads of the districts are fine and the work on PMGSY route is on at war footing. Affected drinking water schemes have been resumed.

The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal, MLA Mahendra Bhatt, Dilip Singh Rawat, Chief Secretary  Utpal Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary Home  Anand Bardhan, Secretary Drinking Water Arvind Singh Hayanki and the Heads of Departments.
