Following on the orders of honorable court anti encroachment drive will continue. Now government will lodge FIR against the person if he/she makes re-encroachment.
Additional Chief Secretary Ompraksh said that the exercise of demolition, identification of illegal encroachments and illegal constructions on footpaths, lanes, roads and other places and sealing of illegal encroachments in Dehradun city by Mussoorie- Dehradun Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, Dehradun and district administration has been going on.
Under the anti-encroachment drive on Monday, 74 illegal encroachments were demolished and 134 illegal encroachments were identified. Till date, a total of 3121 illegal encroachments have been demolished, 5615 illegal encroachments have been identified and 108 buildings sealed during the anti-encroachment drive.
ACS Om Prakash on Monday, reviewed the drive to remove encroachments, identification of encroachments, sealing of buildings and further action with anti-encroachment task force officials at a meeting held at Women Industrial Training Institute, RDT Auditorium at Survey Chowk. He gave strict Instructions to District Magistrate Dehradun , City Commissioner and Secretary, MDDA that any encroachers if found indulging in obstructing or misbehaving with the officers and employees of anti-encroachment task force then FIR should be lodged against such persons for obstructing the official work. Secretary MDDA PC Dumka informed the ACS that an encroacher misbehaved with the employees involved in removing encroachment. Taking cognizance of the incident he instructed them to lodge FIR against that person immediately and the information in this regard should be provided to him. Secretary MDDA informed the ACS that some persons have again encroached upon public land. He asked them to lodge FIR under relevant sections against such persons and action to remove the said encroachments immediately. In future also if anyone indulges in encroachment again, lodge FIR and action should be ensured against them.
Om Prakash said that lack of sanitation and lying of garbage in and around Parade ground which is known as “Heart of Dehradun” is regrettable. He instructed the City Commissioner to clean it and maintain it. Disposal of garbage should be done speedily. ACS along with City Commissioner will personally inspect the areas around parade ground on Tuesday evening. He also instructed City Commissioner that “Sunday market” in Dehradun should not be allowed at any cost so that there is no traffic congestion at places where such market is held for anti-encroachment task force to carry out it’s task of removing encroachment easily. FIR would be lodged against any person putting up any stall or cart to sell goods around parade ground.
District Magistrate S.A. Murugesan, Chief City Commissioner Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Under Secretary Dinesh Kumar Punetha, PWD and officials involved with anti-encroachment drive were present in the meeting.
