Five boys allegedly raped a minor girl in their neighbourhood when her parents were not at home in Sahaspur on July 14. This was ascertained by the police. Initially she did not disclosed it to her parent but later she reveals her ordeal to her mother and she lodged police complaint immediately. Although police has arrested them but this incident has raised question mark that do we really monitor our child?
During interrogation by the police, the boys, in the 9-14 age group, said they had watched pornography on a mobile phone two days before committing the crime. The alleged incident, that took place on July 12, came to light late on Saturday evening when the victim’s parents reported the matter to the police.
The accused were detained and were sent to a juvenile home. According to the police official, the girl was playing outside her house when the boys lured her into a house, which belonged to one of the accused, by offering her chocolates and gangraped her.
The girl’s parents were not at home when the incident took place. They got suspicious when the child was unusually silent. When asked by her mother, the girl explained about her ordeal, the police said.
Expressing shock over the incident, the Chief Judicial Magistrate said the incident was an indication of the dangers of free access to Internet and advised parents to keep cellphones out of the reach of children.
