In a bid to create awareness about the upcoming international yoga day, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat along with his cabinet colleague participated in ”Walk for Yoga” from Gandhi Park to Deendayal Upadhyay Park on Saturday.
Chief Minister said that only through the yoga, whole world can be free from sickness. With the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the entire world celebrates, June 21 as an International Yoga Day. Only by making yoga part of our daily routine, we can imagine a healthy India. There is a need to bring yoga to every village and every house for a healthy India. Due to yoga, India has got a distinct identity at the world level. On the occasion of Yoga Day, the Prime Minister is coming to Uttarakhand and the entire state is under the influence of Yoga. He has appealed to people that wherever yoga programmes are being organized on the occasion of Yoga Day, they should collectively participate in these programmes. Those who are unable to visit other places, they can practice yoga at home.
While expressing gratitude to the Modi and Chief Minister, Ayush Minister Harak Singh Rawat said that both the yoga and Uttarakhand will be benefited from the programme. For spreading awareness about Yoga, June 17, all the police officers led by DGP Anil K Raturi, will participate in the Walk for Yoga from Police Headquarters to Clock Tower-Parade Ground and back to Police Headquarters. On June 18, all the officers and staff of the secretariat, under the leadership of Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, will participate in the Walk For Yoga from Secretariat-Clock Tower-Parade Ground and back to Secretariat. On June 18, the women officers and employees from secretariat, under the leadership of Additional Chief Secretary Radha Rauturi, will join the Walk for Yoga from Secretariat to GMVN and back to Secretariat.
Cabinet Minister Prakash Pant, Madan Kaushik, Yashpal Arya, Subodh Uniyal, State Minister Rekha Arya, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh also took part in the Walk for Yoga.
