Chief Minister Trivenedra Singh Rawat has announced Rs One lakh to be given to Maj Rohit Shukla, who has undertaken 40 successful operation of the army, for his bravery to protect the country and also honoured him. He made announcement while attending a programme organised to honour shaurya chakra recipient Maj Rohit Shukla by Dalanwala welfare society at Doon International School, Dehradun
In his address, CM said that this young officer of just 30 years of age, has undertaken 40 successful operations (campaign) of the army, which is a matter of pride for the state and the country. Our soldiers in adverse circumstances serves the country staying positioned at the borders, as a result the whole country sleeps in peace. After becoming CM, he went to Neylang and Barahoti and met the soldiers there and saw their life and working style. Our soldiers are willing to serve the country wholeheartedly and despite of having adverse circumstances.
In July, plantation will be done for the rejuvenation of river Rispana, for which he has appealed for public cooperation. CM has appealed everyone to plant one tree in their house on the occasion of Harela festival. Major Rohit Shukla said that the honor that I have been bestowed upon, I dedicate this honour to my those colleagues, who have sacrificed their lives for the protection of the country.
On this occasion, Agro-Indian MLA George Ivan Gregory Mann, Major Rohit Shukla’s mother and father Vijayalakshmi Shukla and Gyan Shankar Shukla, President of Doon International School DS Mann, Dr. Mahesh Bhandari, BJP’s Dehradun President Vinay Goyal, BJP leader Sunil Udyiyal Gamma, Col. A.K. Sarin (Retd) and other dignitaries were present.
