Governor Dr KK Paul has inaugurated a day long seminar on Smart City and Cyber Security at India International Centre, New Delhi.
Three hundred people including representatives of Cyber wings of BSG, ITBP, BSF and other security forces and other people associated with cyber security participated in this seminar.
In his address, Dr Paul said that cyber security of the critical infrastructure in the context of national security was very important. The banking system was now online, digital transactions are increasing and this has made cyber security more important.
He said new jobs and specialization in the area of cyber security must be encouraged. Data is the actual wealth these days. Dr.Paul spoke in detail about the various aspects of cyber security. Information was power and data was precious. The new technology has influenced our entire lives and society. Personal communication, business deals –all are based on technology. It becomes very important to protect privacy. People should be made aware about what to share and what not to share on social media. Children should be specially made aware of this.
In matters of cyber crime, quick action should be taken and the criminals should be punished.
