Gram swaraj abhiyan to begin by April 14; Pandey

Secretary Information Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that ‘Gram Swaraj Abhiyan’ will be organized in the entire state from April 14, 2018 till May 05. He said that objective of this drive is social harmony, reaching out to poor families, getting reaction on programmes which are in place, new initiatives started by the government, focusing on doubling the income of farmers, increasing the livelihood opportunities and national priorities like cleanliness and strengthening of panchayati raj organizations.

He said that April 14 will be observed as ‘Social Justice Day’ and social welfare department has given directives to hold programs at national and district level. On April 18, ‘Swacch Bharat Divas’ will be held and Swajal, the nodal department will carry out special cleanliness drive in village pancahyat’s, particularly in those panchayat’s were open defecation has not been achieved.

On 20 April, ‘Ujjwala Divas’ will be observed and nodal department Food and Supplies department and Consumer Affairs will hold panchayat meetings regarding providence of LPG cylinders to beneficiaries. On 24 April, ‘Panchayati Raj Divas’, nodal Panchayati Raj department will hold discussion forums at village panchayat level on social issues, vaccination, health, women empowerment, finalization of village panchayat development scheme and related social issues.

On 28 April, village ‘Swaraj Divas’, nodal department village development/Energy will hold a drive to provide benefit to people related with Prime Minister Housing scheme and Prime Minister Saubhagya scheme.

On 30 April, ‘Ayushman Bharat divas’, nodal department, Health and Family Welfare will generate awareness regarding health issues. On 02 May, ‘Kissan Kalyan divas’, nodal department agriculture will host training programs and hold discussion forums by experts. On 05 May, ‘Aajivika divas’, nodal department National Rural Livelihood Mission will hold discussion forum with help of DDUJKY and open up registration counter for skill development as well as credit camps for RSETI candidates.

Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that directives has been given to related departments/office heads/nodal officers of all development blocks of thirteen districts and at village panchayat level where personnel are available to immediately appoint nodal officials.

He further informed that 116 villages of the district, selected by Government of India, will be fully covered with seven schemes named ‘Ujjwala’, ‘Ujala’, ‘Saubhagya’, ‘Jandhan’ , ‘Jeevan Jyoti’ , ‘Jeevan Surakasha’ and ‘Mission Indra Dhanush’.

Pandey said that on ‘Aajivika divas’, in the entire state, in all the districts and blocks, panel discussions on women empowerment, livelihood mission, skill development and social development will be held. For this a skill van will be operated in which all the concerned departments will ensure their participation.
All the departments on various days of this drive will inform on daily basis, information department about the related program and operating schemes so that the department can further disseminate them through various mediums and this will also aid in documentation.
