Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working on ‘Skill India, Digital India’, to build a modern India. He said that role of young voters will be extremely important in deciding the fate of the country. He was expressing his views at “Millennium Voter Maha-Abhiyaan-2018”, organised by BJP Yuva Morcha held at Doiwala on Sunday.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat felicitated millennium voters during the function. He spoke on the need of eradicating corruption from state, and country. He said that government has adopted a ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy against corruption in the state.
He said 20 corrupt government officials were arrested so far in National Highway -74 scandal, and probe is on to nab more corrupt government officials involved in that scam. Uttarakhand has huge potential in the field of tourism and the state government is working to improve rail connectivity to boost tourism sector across the state. Cheap heli facilities would be started soon from 27 helipads in the state. He said that loss in power sectors was earlier registered at Rs 288 crore, which was reduced by Rs 200 crore and reached Rs. 88 crore in the state. The income of the transport department has increased to Rs 150 year and a hike of 28 percent was registered in the mining sector in the state. He said that target has been set up to double the state revenue by 2020. Efforts were on to set up growth centres in all 670 civic bodies across the state to check migration of population and provision has been made to sanction budget in this year’s budget for the same. Union Government has sanctioned to set up convention centre spread over 800 acre of land at IDPL, Rishikesh. He expressed concern over deteriorated child sex ratio in some of districts of the state, and urged the people to check it.
