An office of government department is running without electricity for the last few months. On the one hand state government says they have been introducing bio-metric attendance in government offices to ensure employees’ presence in office and on the other hand office does not have electricity. Now question arises, does it possible without electricity?
Food and Civil Supply department office, Haldwani, is running in darkness because their owner has snapped the electricity connection. Due to this people are unable to link their ration card with Aadhar. It happens because they failed to pay electricity bill to their land owner. Although official blames it happened because government has not released budget to them. Due to this people have to return empty hand because department official says they could not execute their work due to lack of electricity. Ironically government keeps asking their official to address people grievance at their level so that people should not come to Dehradun to lodge their complaint.
Food and Civil Supply department office, which is running in rented accommodation in haldwani, is running without electricity. As we know that Trivendra singh Rawat cabinet has introduced direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme.Under this beneficieries will have to link their ration card with Aadhar and bank account so that government would transfer subsidy money into their account.
Although official says, the department is facing it due to paucity of budget. Getting frustrated with the indefinite delay in payment owner has disconnected the electricity connection and now putting pressure to vacate their accommodation too.
Due to this, online work has stopped completely. Even officials are completing their file work with the help of mobile light. Officials said that once they get budget then they would resume the electricity connection after paying electricity bill and till then they don’t have option. Due to this people, who comes from far flung area to connect their ration card with Aadhar are visiting frequently but they return with an answer that once electricity resume then they would link their card with Aadhar.
