Kumaon Commissioner and Secretary to Chief Minister Deepak Rawat has issued strict instructions to officials to prevent the black marketing of domestic LPG gas cylinders across the Kumaon region. He emphasized that misuse and illegal sale of domestic cylinders will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

During a review meeting with officials of the concerned departments, Commissioner Deepak Rawat directed authorities to conduct regular inspections of gas agencies to ensure transparency in distribution. He said that special enforcement drives should be launched in areas where complaints of commercial use or black marketing of domestic cylinders are reported.
Rawat instructed District Magistrates and District Supply Officers to keep a close watch on the stock registers of gas agencies, the distribution system, and the delivery of cylinders to consumers. He warned that if any gas agency or individual is found involved in illegal activities related to domestic cylinders, strict legal action will be taken immediately.
Highlighting the importance of LPG cylinders for daily household needs, the Commissioner Deepak Rawat said that ensuring their proper availability and fair distribution is a top priority for the administration. He directed officials to act swiftly on complaints and ensure that the public does not face any inconvenience.
The administration has also appealed to the public to cooperate in preventing black marketing. Citizens have been urged to immediately inform the concerned department if they come across any instance of illegal sale or misuse of domestic gas cylinders so that appropriate action can be taken against those responsible.
