Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday expressed displeasure after knowing that a complaint lodged on CM Helpline 1905 by a student remained unresolved. Sakshi, a student of Sridev Suman University, had reported not receiving her degree, but her grievance was still pending.

During a review meeting of the CM Helpline at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister directed the Secretaries of IT and Higher Education to probe the matter and submit a report within a week. He ordered strict action against the concerned officials and instructed that the student’s degree should be issued within a week. CM has also ordered the setting up of help desks in universities and colleges to address student grievances effectively.

Emphasizing accountability, the Chief Minister directed that services provided under the Right to Service Act must be displayed prominently in offices and that complaints related to electricity, water, roads, and other essential services be resolved promptly. He instructed departments to post notice boards indicating fixed days for officers to meet the public and address grievances.

Dhami further directed that officials must personally speak with complainants to ensure speedy redressal. He asked District Magistrates to review the CM Helpline weekly, Secretaries twice a month, and the Chief Secretary once a month. Cases pending for more than three months are to be resolved through a campaign, he said, warning that officials failing to act within timelines would be held accountable.

The Chief Minister stressed that a grievance would only be considered resolved when the complainant is fully satisfied. He also prioritized repairs to disaster-damaged infrastructure such as power lines and protective walls. All departments have been asked to submit monthly status reports on complaints received via the CM Helpline to the CMO by the 5th of every month.

ITDA Director Gaurav Kumar informed the meeting about the complaints received and action taken, noting that most grievances were related to drinking water, the Home Department, and energy.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, R. Meenakshi Sundaram, senior officials, and all District Magistrates, who joined virtually.
