Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday conducted a field inspection of disaster-affected areas in Syanachatti, meeting local residents and assuring them of full government support. He interacted with the affected families, listened to their grievances, and promised to extend every possible help at the earliest.

A temporary lake had formed in the Yamuna river near Syanachatti after debris from Gadgad Gadera blocked the river’s flow. Inspecting the site, the Chief Minister instructed officials to remove silt deposits and widen the lake’s mouth to ensure faster drainage. He directed District Magistrate Prashant Arya to assess the damage caused by waterlogging and debris immediately and submit a detailed report. He also asked the administration to make arrangements for fair-price purchase of potato crops, which had been affected due to disruption of movement.

The Chief Minister further inspected the Kupda Kunshala bridge, directing authorities to appoint a working agency at the earliest and begin construction work. He also emphasized the need for an alternative footpath until regular movement is restored. Stressing on quick restoration, he instructed officials to clear landslide-blocked roads and ensure that the Yamunotri Yatra route is reopened at the earliest.

“In this hour of crisis, the government stands firmly with every affected family. After a detailed assessment, all possible assistance will be provided without delay,” CM Dhami assured.

He was accompanied by Purola MLA Durgeshwar Lal, Yamunotri MLA Sanjay Dobhal, BJP District President Nagendra Chauhan, District Panchayat President Ramesh Chauhan, State Media Incharge Manveer Chauhan, Garhwal Coordinator Kishore Bhatt, and senior administrative and police officials including DM Prashant Arya, SP Sarita Dobhal, SDRF Commandant Arpan Yaduvanshi, ADM Mukta Mishra, SDM Brijesh Tiwari, DSP Devendra Singh Negi, and Janak Singh Panwar.
