Uttarakhand Health Department Undergoes Major Reshuffle to Strengthen Infrastructure and Services
In a significant administrative move aimed at streamlining the healthcare system and enhancing service delivery, the Uttarakhand government on Wednesday ordered a major reshuffle in the Health Department. The transfers include several top-level officials such as Directors, Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), Medical Superintendents, and Joint Directors.
According to official sources, the objective of this comprehensive restructuring is to reinforce the state’s health infrastructure and ensure smooth and effective functioning of healthcare services across districts.
As per the government orders, Shikhar Jangpangi, who was serving as Director of Garhwal Division, has now been appointed as Director of Health Services at the Directorate General, Dehradun. Meanwhile, Chandraprakash Tripathi, who previously held the position of Director, Health Services at the Directorate General, has been posted as Director of Garhwal Division.
Almora CMO Dr. Ramesh Chandra Pant has been appointed as Director-in-Charge, Directorate General of Health Services. Dr. Praveen Kumar has been given charge as Joint Director at the same office.
Further, Shivmohan Shukla, earlier posted at the District Hospital in Dehradun, has been made the new CMO of Pauri. Dr. Preeti Pant, who was working at District Hospital Almora, will now serve as Joint Director, Directorate General of Health, Dehradun.
Naveen Chand Tiwari, who served as Additional CMO, Dehradun, has also been promoted and appointed as Joint Director, Directorate General of Health Services. Ajay Kumar, earlier posted as CMO in Nainital, has been transferred and appointed as the Medical Superintendent of Gethiya, Nainital.
Officials stated that these transfers were made in view of the state’s ongoing efforts to improve health management, enhance accountability, and deliver efficient services to the people of Uttarakhand.
