CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Flags Off ‘Ahilya Smriti Marathon’ in Dehradun

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today flagged off the Ahilya Samiti Marathon – Ek Virasat, Ek Sankalp at the Pavilion Ground in Dehradun. Leading by example, the Chief Minister also took part in the run after officially starting the race. Aimed at promoting health, unity, and cultural pride, the event saw enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups.

The Chief Minister flagged off the marathon and also ran alongside the youth, setting an inspiring example of leadership and fitness. Addressing the participants, CM Dhami said that such events play a significant role in fostering unity and awareness within society. “These marathons not only connect people to their heritage and shared values but also encourage a healthy lifestyle,” he said.

The event was organized in memory of Ahilyabai Holkar, a symbol of good governance, service, and cultural preservation. The “Ek Virasat, Ek Sankalp” theme highlighted the importance of preserving India’s rich cultural heritage while taking collective steps towards building a strong, progressive society.

Several prominent leaders and public representatives were also present on the occasion. BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, General Secretary (Organization) Ajay Kumar, Mayor Saurabh Thapliyal, Metropolitan President Siddharth Agarwal, MLA Bharat Chaudhary, and party officials including Anil Dabbu, Shyam Agarwal, Hem Bajrangi, and BJP Yuva Morcha Metropolitan President Devendra Singh Bisht marked their attendance, encouraging the participants.

The event saw spirited participation from youth, fitness enthusiasts, and local citizens, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and community bonding. Security arrangements and facilities for the runners were well-organized, ensuring a smooth event. The successful conduct of the marathon reflected growing civic engagement in Uttarakhand and underlined the state’s commitment to social and cultural values.
