In his address, CM Dhami lauded the institution’s efforts in preserving Indian cultural values and nurturing nationalism since the establishment of Saraswati Shishu Mandir post-independence. He also congratulated students of Saraswati Vidya Mandir for achieving 100% results in the recent Class 10 and 12 board examinations.

The Chief Minister emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has seen significant reforms in the education sector. Uttarakhand, he said, became the first state to implement the New Education Policy. In line with this vision, 141 PM Shri Vidyalayas and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Residential Schools are being built across the state. Additionally, virtual classrooms have been introduced in 500 schools across all 13 districts, and NCERT books have been mandated in all government schools to ensure uniform quality education.

Highlighting new initiatives, Dhami mentioned the Chief Minister’s Medhavi Chhatra Protsahan Scholarship Scheme which provides scholarships to meritorious students from both government and private schools. Furthermore, top-performing students from each development block are now being sent on educational tours across India to encourage personality development. He also outlined the recently launched Chief Minister Balashraya Yojana aimed at supporting the holistic development of school children.

In a major technological leap, the Vidya Samiksha Kendra, modeled on the Gujarat initiative, has been established to monitor and enhance educational outcomes. Over 16,000 schools have already been connected, and efforts are underway to integrate private schools as well. This will enable real-time data access on teachers, students, and academic activities for effective policy implementation.

Turning to sports, the CM announced that scholarships, training, and full residential facilities are being provided to young athletes. A historic initiative to provide government jobs to medal-winning athletes at the national level has also begun. He proudly noted that Uttarakhand athletes won over 100 medals at the recent 38th National Games.

Also present at the event were senior dignitaries including Suresh Soni (All India Executive Board), Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLA Sahdev Pundir, and others. The event underscored the state’s commitment to nurturing education and sports excellence.
