Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday conducted a physical inspection of the Maa Purnagiri temple under construction at Nagla Tarai in Khatima. The project, being developed at a cost of ₹254 lakh, is a key part of the state’s religious and tourism infrastructure enhancement.
During the visit, the Chief Minister issued clear instructions to the implementing agency to expedite the temple construction while maintaining high standards of quality. He also directed officials to ensure proper facilities such as drinking water and sanitation (toilets) are arranged for devotees and visitors.
CM Dhami reiterated that there will be zero tolerance towards substandard work in any development project across the state. “There will be no compromise on quality. Strict action will be taken against any agency or contractor failing to deliver as per expectations,” he said. He further emphasized that all development works must adhere to their scheduled timelines.
Following the inspection, the Chief Minister interacted with the public at the Lohia Head Camp office. He patiently heard their grievances and issued necessary directions to concerned officials for prompt redressal of the issues raised.
The visit was attended by several prominent public representatives, including MLA Shiv Arora, Kashipur Mayor Deepak Bali, Nagar Palika Khatima President Ramesh Chandra Joshi, BJP District President Kamal Jindal, Anil Kapoor Dabbu, and former MLA Dr. Prem Singh Rana. Their presence underlined the importance of the project and the administration’s commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the local populace.
The Maa Purnagiri temple is expected to become a major spiritual destination upon completion, drawing pilgrims from across the state and beyond.
