Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has felicitated 75 meritorious students of High School and Intermediate from the Uttarakhand Secondary Education Board of Class X and XII today. The Medhavi Chhatra Samman Ceremony, held at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan at the Chief Minister’s residence, celebrated the dedication and hard work of the state’s brightest young minds.
Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami congratulated the students, their parents, and teachers, stating, “These talented students are the foundation of Uttarakhand’s bright future. Their success brings pride not only to their families but to the entire state.” He reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the state’s education system with a focus on quality and inclusivity.
The Chief Minister outlined several initiatives undertaken to uplift education in the state. He noted that NCERT books have been made compulsory in all government schools and free textbooks are being distributed from Classes 1 to 12 in both government and aided institutions. He further announced that 226 schools are being upgraded as PM Shri Vidyalayas, while virtual classes are active in 500 schools. In addition, 840 schools are being equipped with smart classrooms in hybrid mode.
Highlighting welfare measures, CM Dhami spoke about the Chief Minister’s Medhavi Chhatra Protsahan Scholarship Scheme, which provides monthly scholarships to meritorious students from Classes 6 to 12. To promote personality development and exposure, the government has also launched a scheme to send top-performing Class 10 and 12 students on educational tours across India.
In a cultural push, the government has developed books in Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari languages and introduced ‘Hamari Virasat’ to connect students with India’s rich heritage. Additionally, the ‘Kaushal Program’ aims to foster skills, entrepreneurship, and Indian knowledge traditions among students. The event concluded with applause for the young achievers and a renewed commitment to educational excellence.
