Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath Departs for Sri Kedarnath Dham from Omkareshwar Temple

The Panchmukhi Chal Vigraha Doli of Shri Kedarnath Bhagwan departs from the sacred Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath today. Accompanied by traditional rituals and the stirring tunes of the army band, the revered Doli commenced its ceremonial journey towards Kedarnath Dham for the summer season.

A flood of devotees thronged the temple premises early in the morning, eager to witness the auspicious departure. The air resonated with chants of “Jai Kedarnath” as flower petals were showered and hymns filled the atmosphere, creating an overwhelming spiritual ambiance.

Following tradition, the Doli will make its first halt today at Shri Vishwanath Temple in Guptkashi, where it will rest overnight. Continuing its journey, the Doli will depart from Guptkashi on the morning of April 29 and reach Phata by evening, where it will stay for the night. On April 30, the procession will move from Phata to Shri Gauramai Temple in Gaurikund, where another overnight halt is scheduled.

The final leg of the journey will take place on May 1, when the Doli departs from Gaurikund and reaches Mandir Bhandar at Shri Kedarnath Dham by afternoon. In a much-anticipated event, the doors of Shri Kedarnath Temple will be ceremoniously opened for devotees at 7:00 am on May 2, amid the chanting of Vedic mantras and elaborate rituals.

The annual pilgrimage marks the return of Lord Kedarnath to his summer abode, welcoming thousands of devotees who brave the rugged terrain to seek blessings. Preparations are underway to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage for all visitors.
