DAINIK NATION BUREAU/KEDARNATH(RUDRAPRAYAG)
In a bid to review the preparations for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra 2025, which is going to begin by April 30 with an opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri portals, Chief Secreatary Anand Bardhan visited Sri Kedarnath Dham today. During assessment of the ongoing reconstruction works, he issued necessary directives to ensure remaining works to be completed as per schedule.
The Chief Secretary closely inspected the Bailey Bridge constructed over the Mandakini and Saraswati rivers. Rudraprayag District Magistrate Dr. Saurabh Gaharwar informed him that the bridge work is complete, which will facilitate easier movement for pilgrims. Bardhan also visited the rain shelters along the Aastha Path, instructing officials to install LED signage for easy navigation to toilets, medical aid, and other essential services.
Emphasizing passenger comfort, he directed that arrangements for providing hot water to devotees standing in queues be made, in view of the cold weather conditions. He inspected the cleanliness of the temple complex, the Aastha Path, and nearby toilet facilities, stressing the importance of hygiene.
The Chief Secretary also reviewed crowd management, drinking water, rest areas, and medical services at Rudra Point and Ghoda Padav. He instructed GMVN officials to ensure timely repair and cleanliness of all cottages along the Yatra route.
DM Dr Gaharwar assured that preparations across accommodation, health services, water supply, electricity, communication, and emergency management are about to complete. SP Akshay Prahlad Konde added that security arrangements, regular route inspections, and a comprehensive traffic management plan have been put in place. Disaster management teams will also be stationed along the route to respond promptly in case of emergencies.
With strong coordination among departments, authorities are aiming to ensure a safe and smooth experience for all pilgrims this Yatra season.
