Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Uttarakhand to a warm reception by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Jollygrant airport, Dehradun. His visit comes shortly after the Union Cabinet’s approval of major infrastructure projects, including the Kedarnath and Hemkunt Sahib ropeways, which aim to enhance pilgrimage connectivity and boost local economies.
As per his itinerary, PM Modi will visit Mukhwa, the winter home of Gangotri Dham, where he will pay obeisance. Following this, he will address a public gathering in Harsil, emphasizing the government’s commitment to promoting religious and winter tourism in the region. The event will be attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and other prominent dignitaries.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for his unwavering support in accelerating the development of Uttarakhand. Under PM Modi’s leadership, the state has witnessed rapid progress in pilgrimage infrastructure, tourism, and connectivity. The newly sanctioned ropeway projects will significantly improve accessibility to the Kedarnath temple and Hemkund Sahib, benefiting lakhs of devotees and boosting tourism.
