Shri Kedarnath Dham door will open for pilgrims on May 2 at 7 AM in the auspicious Taurus Lagna. With this announcement, the preparations for the annual Shri Kedarnath Yatra have gained momentum. BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal congratulated all devotees, emphasizing that the temple committee is actively overseeing the arrangements.
The schedule for the Panchmukhi Doli’s journey to Shri Kedarnath Dham has also been finalized. The worship of Lord Bhairavnath will take place on April 27 at Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath. On April 28, the Panchmukhi Doli will commence its journey, reaching Shri Vishwanath Temple, Guptkashi, for an overnight stay. On April 29, it will proceed to Phata, followed by Gauradevi Temple, Gaurikund, on April 30. On May 1, the Doli will reach Shri Kedarnath Dham, ahead of the grand opening on May 2.
BKTC Executive Engineer Anil Dhyani confirmed that an advance team from the temple committee will soon travel to Kedarnath to finalize arrangements. BKTC Media Incharge Dr. Harish Gaur also announced the appointed priests for this year’s yatra. Bagesh Ling will serve as the head priest for Shri Kedarnath Dham, while Shivling Madmaheshwar will oversee rituals at Madmaheshwar Dham. Gangadhar Ling and Shiv Shankar Ling will perform worship at Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath, and Shri Vishwanath Temple, Guptkashi, respectively.
Several dignitaries, including BKTC officials, administrative officers, and religious leaders, were present at the ceremony. Notably, the doors of Shri Badrinath Dham will open on May 4 at 6 AM, while the portals of Shri Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will open on April 30, marking Akshaya Tritiya.
