World famous 11th jyotirlinga Shri Kedarnath Dham kapat will open on May 2 at 7 AM in the auspicious month of Baishakh, under Gemini and Taurus Lagna, following traditional rituals.
The announcement was made on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivaratri at Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath. Here religious leaders and Ved scholars determined the date through Panchang calculations. The event was attended by Shri Kedarnath Dham Rawal Bhimashankar Ling, Kedarnath MLA Asha Nautiyal, temple officials, and hundreds of devotees.
The worship of Lord Bhairavnath will take place on April 27, while the Panchmukhi Doli of Baba Kedar will depart from Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath, to Kedarnath Dham on April 28.
Shri Omkareshwar Temple was beautifully decorated with flowers for the occasion, and the atmosphere was filled with devotion as bhajans and kirtans echoed through the temple premises. Devotees gathered in large numbers for darshan and distributed prasad.
BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal extended his best wishes to all devotees, expressing joy over the announcement and inviting pilgrims to witness the divine opening ceremony at Shri Kedarnath Dham.
