Uttarakhand Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Retd) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today released the coffee table book ‘Ek Aur Prayas on Disaster Management in Shri Kedarnath Ji Area’ at Raj Bhavan. The book, prepared by the State Disaster Management Authority, highlights crucial disaster management efforts in the Kedarnath region and serves as a tribute to the brave individuals and organizations that contributed to minimizing disaster impact through their selfless service.

Speaking on the occasion, Governor Singh emphasized that the book will act as an inspiration and a guide for future disaster management strategies. Alongside the book launch, the Governor also inaugurated the USDMA dashboard, a state-of-the-art digital system designed to enhance disaster management in Uttarakhand. He stated that the dashboard will improve accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in disaster response by enabling real-time data collection, analysis, and policy-making. “This new technological advancement will not only facilitate quick response but also help in better forecasting and planning for disasters,” he said.

CM Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh for their continuous support in strengthening Uttarakhand’s disaster management system. He assured that the state is making full preparations for a well-organized Chardham Yatra, while also noting the positive experiences emerging from the winter yatra that began on December 8, 2024.
