Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday, congratulating him on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) resounding victory in the Haryana Assembly elections. During the meeting, CM Dhami expressed his gratitude for the Prime Minister’s continuous support for the development of Uttarakhand and presented him with a replica of Kedarnath Temple and prasad from Baba Kedarnath.

The Chief Minister lauded the victory in Haryana as a testament to the people’s unwavering trust in PM Modi’s leadership and vision for progress.

Developmental Proposals for Uttarakhand:

In the meeting, CM Dhami made significant requests to bolster Uttarakhand’s infrastructure and development. He sought the Prime Minister’s approval for the construction of 21 water projects with a total capacity of 2,123 MW. These projects were recommended by Expert Committee-2 and are crucial for enhancing the state’s energy capabilities.

Additionally, CM Dhami requested the transfer of three major ropeway projects to the Uttarakhand government for development and operation. The proposed projects include the Sonprayag-Gaurikund-Kedarnath, Govind Ghat-Hemkund Sahib, and Kathgodam-Nainital ropeways, aimed at improving tourism infrastructure in the state.

Revival of Regional Air Services:

The Chief Minister also urged the Ministry of Civil Aviation to restart air services on the Dehradun-Gauchar-Dehradun and Dehradun-Chinyalisaud-Dehradun routes under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS). He emphasized the importance of reviving air services, particularly for better connectivity to remote areas. Furthermore, CM Dhami requested clearance to operate small aircraft on the Chinyalisaud airstrip in Uttarkashi district, which would enhance accessibility in the region.

National Highways Expansion:

CM Dhami also sought PM Modi’s intervention to notify two key roadways—Khairna-Ranikhet-Bangidhar-Bajron Motorway (256.9 km) and Kathgodam-Bhimtal-Lohaghat-Pancheshwar Motorway (189 km)—as National Highways. These routes would significantly improve connectivity between the Kumaon and Garhwal regions of Uttarakhand. Additionally, he requested approval for the remaining sections of the Dehradun Ring Road, a critical infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic in the capital.

The meeting concluded with CM Dhami expressing his gratitude for PM Modi’s unwavering support and leadership in driving Uttarakhand’s development agenda forward.
