India’s Battle Against Corruption: PM Modi Discloses Removal of 11 Crores Fake Beneficiary Names”

DAINIK NATION BUREAU : In a scathing condemnation of corruption, Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed that a staggering 11 crores fake names had been surreptitiously added to beneficiary lists under various government schemes. This disturbing revelation was made as PM Modi addressed a gathering in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. He was there to commemorate the 500th birth anniversary of Rani Durgavati, the formidable queen of Gondwana known for her fierce resistance against the Mughals.

During his visit, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for a multitude of critical projects, spanning diverse sectors including road infrastructure, railways, gas pipelines, housing initiatives, and clean drinking water facilities. The combined worth of these projects exceeded ₹12,600 crore, underscoring the government’s commitment to comprehensive development.

PM Modi’s revelation of the 11 crores fake names was a sobering moment in his address. He explained that these names did not belong to real individuals but were instead fabricated to pilfer funds from the government’s coffers. This manipulation of government databases and the creation of counterfeit beneficiaries were part of a larger corruption scheme, where fraudulent documents were concocted within government offices. The sheer magnitude of this deception is alarming, surpassing the combined population of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

These 11 crores fake names were exploited to exploit the rights and resources that were meant for genuinely deserving individuals. Prime Minister Modi asserted that he undertook a comprehensive cleansing of this corruption when he assumed power in 2014. The government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating corruption and ensuring the effective utilization of public funds was clear in this revelation.

The Prime Minister’s statement serves as a stark reminder of the challenges India has faced in its battle against corruption and its determination to uphold the principles of transparency and accountability in governance. It also underscores the critical importance of continuous efforts to safeguard public resources and ensure they reach those who truly need them.
