Kohli powers India to victory in 1st T20 against Windies

A sensational 94* from skipper Virat Kohli propelled team India to a 6 wicket win over West Indies in the first T20I in Hyderabad.

In the first T20 match played in Hyderabad, Team India defeated West Indies to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli helped, India achieve the huge target of 208 runs given by the West Indies. This is the biggest goal achieved by India in T20. Earlier, India had achieved a target of 207 runs in 2009 against Sri Lanka. This was Kohli’s highest score in T20 Internationals. The Indian skipper scored the winning runs with a lofty six of Kesrick Williams in the 19th over. Team India won the match by 6 wickets and 7 balls to spare.

Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring 8 runs. Hetmyer caught him off Khari Pierre. Rahul shared 100 runs for the second wicket with Kohli. Lokesh Rahul was dismissed after scoring 62 runs. He was caught by Khairi Pierre at the hands of Pollard.
