MLA horsetrading: CBI files FIR against Harish Rawat

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat and former Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat have troubled times ahead. CBI has registered an FIR against these two. Umesh Kumar, CEO of a local private news channel, has also been accused in this case. He is accused of conspiring to share ministries and transactions of crores of rupees while holding government posts. CBI has decided to register an FIR after conducting preliminary inquiry into the matter for about three and a half years.

The decision to make Harak Singh Rawat and Umesh Kumar accused is shocking. Because Umesh Kumar did the sting of Harish Rawat, involving horse trading of MLA’s, and with the same sting video, Harak Singh Rawat complained to the Governor and demanded a CBI inquiry against Harish Rawat. After a thorough investigation of the video of the sting operation and the call record between the three accused, the CBI found that Umesh Kumar had actually gone to bargain on behalf of Harak Singh Rawat instead of doing the sting operation of Harish Rawat. The alleged video of Sting is actually a video of this bargain.
