The meeting of the Trivendra Singh Rawat cabinet will be held in Almora on October 23, instead of October 24. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the meeting will be held at Govind Ballabh Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment and Sustainable Development at Kosi, a remote place in Almora district. The proposal to amend the circle rate of lands in the state is unlikely to be placed in this cabinet meeting.
The state cabinet meeting is being held after one and a half months due to panchayat elections. This will be the third meeting of the Trivendra Singh Rawat cabinet in the mountainous region of the state. So far, cabinet meetings have been held in Tehri and Pauri. The meeting was held in Tehri in the last year and in Pauri in the last week of May this year. In these meetings, the government has put various decisions related to the state as well as the tradition of taking important decisions at the local level. The Chief Minister had asked to hold a cabinet meeting in a remote village in the district.
