Mussoorie bus stand of Roadways, which is operating on railway land for the past 65 years, will now be transferred to ISBT. Railway has given time to the transport corporation till July 31 to clear this bus stand. The railway has warned the demolition of the bus stand at the time of freeing the land in time.
Transport Minister Yashpal Arya held a meeting with the roadways officials on this issue. The Transport Minister said that besides ISBT we have no other choice for shifting the bus stand at present. It is believed that all the buses for the hills will be operated from ISBT in the first week of August.
The transport corporation sitting on the railway land was not ready to vacate its bus station for the hills. The situation is that the corporation owes around Rs 55 lakh as rent, which is pending for years. Railways had given notice to roadways four years ago to clear the bus stand, but the land was not vacant. After this, several days of notice were issued, but no solution was found.
Since, now the Land of the roadways bus stand is within the purview of Smart City, MDDA should require this land to expand and beautify the railway station. Therefore, roadways is not in the opposing position. Roadways knocked the government on the notice of the railway, on which the transport minister Yashpal Arya took a meeting on Thursday. After considering all aspects, the Transport Minister instructed to run Mussoorie bus stand from ISBT.
