Phone and broadband of Rishikesh Raiwala Muni-ki-reiti and Swargashram area consumers connected to the exchange located at Nataraj Chowk, Rishikesh, suddenly got stalled. BSNL’s negligence has emerged in this case. According to Rail Vikas Nigam, seeing the work of Karanprayag Rail Project, the lines of the telecom corporation were to be shifted in the excavation work under the project. For this about one crore rupees had been paid a year ago. After long wait it was necessary to start the work.
The exchange of Indian telecom corporation is located near Dehradun Road Natraj Chowk. From here, telecom services are operated for Rishikesh, Muni-ki-reiti, Swargashram, IDPL, Raiwala.
In the afternoon, the telephone of the concerned area suddenly became dead. The troubled people kept finding the cause but did not get the answer. By the late night, services for thousands of users of the telephone and broadband were not working. Many consumers said that the responsible officials of the department are not picking the phone.
Information was obtained on the spot and it was found that under the Rishikesh Karnprayag Rail Project, construction of a railway over bridge near Dehradun Road Telephone Exchange was to be constructed. For this, the department started digging on Sunday. All the cable connected to the telephone exchange was cut in this excavation.
