Governor Smt Baby Rani Maurya conducted a surprise inspection of the Nari Niketan at Kedarpuram today.
She presented the inmates with fruits and sweets on the occasion of Janmashtami. She directed Chief Medical Officer Dr.SK Gupta and SDM (sadar) Pratyush Singh regarding the health condition of some of the inmates.
She said that the SDM and CMO should give a monthly report to her about the conditions at the Nari Niketan.The quality of the food there should be checked .She tasted the food herself .CMO said that four of the inmates were admitted in Doon hospital these days .He said that every Friday, a team of women doctors came to check the health condition of the inmates.
The Governor objected to the presence of a male supervisor there who was supervising construction activity. She directed the Nari Niketan matron to have a female supervisor instead.
