Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has requested the Union Minister Prakash Javadekar to provide central assistance to NAAC rating colleges in Uttarakhand like othert Himalayan states, opening of a medical college in Haridwar for betterment of education and start of a professional college in the state. CM met Union Human Resource Development Minister in New Delhi on Thursday.
Chief Minister also expected from the Union Minister that Government College, Gopeshwar which has got first rank in NAAC ranking should be given the status of cluster university. Chief Minister also requested the Union Human Resource Minister that those college of Himalayan states which are not in NAAC ,should be provided grants under RUSA.
Minister of state for Higher Education minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat also requested the Union Minister that permanent campus of NIT should be established at the land provided by the state government for NIT at Sumadi. Union Minister Javadekar assured action on the different proposals.
