The Met Department on Saturday issued an alert about heavy rain in many places in the next 48 hours.
It has also issued an advisory for pilgrims, commuters and residents, living in the hilly and low-lying areas, to be alert and remain in touch with the government. The Department of Disaster Management, the police and the SDRF have been told about the bad weather conditions.
As per the met department bulletin, next 48 hour heavy to heavy rain may occur especially in Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Tehri, Chamoli, Nainital, Udhamsinghnagar and Pithoragarh. Besides it, other place will also receive good rain. In view of this Metereological Director Bikram Singh has sent written intimation to the uttarakhand government on Saturday.
Taking cognizance on it, State Emergency operation centre (SEOC) has issued to all district magistrates and asked to stop vehicle movement in hilly areas of the state especially between 8 pm to 5 am excluding emergency vehicle. Even SDRF and other agencies have been put on high alert.
