CBI seals Income Tax Comminssioners bungalow in Dehradun for asking Rs 50 lakh bribe

Income Tax Commissioner Shwetabh Suman was arrested by the CBI on Friday for allegedly demanding a bribe of 50 lakh rupees from Guwahati. In this case, the amount of bribe was also recovered from a middleman.

Shwetabh Suman, posted in Guwahati, allegedly demanded a bribe to order in favor of a businessman’s income tax assessment in a case of a fraudulent company. The CBI has sealed Suman’s Kothi in Dehradun. Apart from this, some documents have also been taken from the Kothi. In this, the CBI team has raided several places including Guwahati, Noida, Shillong, Hozai and Jorhat besides the Mussoorie diversion on Rajpur Road.

Four cases for property more than income

During the his tenure at the Dehradun Income Tax Office, Shwetabh Suman had been full of controversies and allegations. Trial is going on in the court after the chargesheet filed in four cases related to the discrepancies against him. There are four cases in different courts of Doon f against Shwetaabh Suman. In this there is a case of more property than his income. In this case, the trial is almost in the final round. Local advocates of the Central Bureau of Investigation say that soon the verdict is expected to come in this case. Whereas a case departmental file is stolen, another is attached to the documents and the third is connected to a luxury car. These three cases are also going on in the trial. Shwetaabh Suman was stationed as the Deputy Commissioner in Doon.
