Partition was due to wrong policies of Congress says PM Modi in Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attacked the Congress for creation of Telangana with only political considerations saying people are suffering because of the decision. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, the PM said Partition was the result of Congress’s wrong policies.

Modi said: “Not a single day has passed when the country has not suffered due to poison sowed by you.” Amidst continuous pandemonium, the PM said the Opposition has the right to protest but not disrupt it. “You were only singing paeans of one family instead of focusing on taking the country forward,” said Modi to the Congress.

In a hard-hitting speech, the PM said: “How did the Congress act in Kerala, how did they treat the Akali Dal in Punjab, how did they behave in Tamil Nadu? Why did the Congress dismiss so many state governments at their will. This is no commitment to democracy.”He said: “If Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel would have been the first prime minister of the country, entire Kashmir would have been ours.”

“How can one of the leaders say India got democracy due to Pandit Nehru and Congress Party? Is this their reading of India’s history? What arrogance is this,” said the PM.
