DDA formed to ensure all round development; Kaushik

In a bid to ensure overall development in a planned manner, state government has constituted district development authority (DDA). This was disclosed by the state urban development minister Madan Kaushik while convening its first meeting of Udhamsinghnagar DDA here in Rudrapur on Wednesday.

He averred that the authority had been established for the development of the areas and welfare of the locals. The revenue earned by the authorities willbe used for the development of the local areas. He directed that officials of the authorities should inform the public about the works and aims of the authorities in addition to informing them about the benefits of getting building maps approved and undertaking planned work.

Officials of the authority and local bodies should work in coordination and prepare a master plan for the district. He directed the sub divisional magistrates and officials of the authority to write to the state administration about the practical difficulties being faced in the field so that these can be resolved in time.

 He said that soon a workshop will be held for the development authorities. He further said that procedures have to be completed through the authority for registration under the Real Estate Regulatory Authority.

During the meeting, the CDO informed that the Udham Singh Nagar development authority (UDA) office has been established in the collectorate and a bank account had also been opened for it.

Applications are being received for building construction approval in areas falling in Rudrapur, Kichha and Gadarpur Tehsils. Apart from the UDA office in the district headquarters, regional offices have been opened in the SDM office in Kashipur and Khatima.

Rudrapur MLA Rajkumar Thukral, DM in-charge Alok Kumar Pandey and other officials concerned were present there.
