State Cabinet Minister Harak Singh Rawat has categorically said that no new industrial training institutes (ITIs) would be opened in the state in the next two years. 28 industrial training institutes that were non-functional would be dissolved.

“There is no point in making announcements for opening new ITIs if quality education cannot be provided,” he said.

The existing ITIs should  provide quality education. 176 industrial training institutes in the state, 148 were operational and remaining are non functional.
