Police late on Tuesday arrested Parvesh Kumar, the history teacher of Sardar Singh Rawat Inter College, Nainbagh, accused for raping a 15-year-old student for several months. The case came to light when medical examination confirmed that the class X student was eight-month pregnant. The accused had been raping her for months and had threatened her for months.
Manoj Negi, Station officer of Kempty police station, said, “Kumar was arrested late on Tuesday after the girl’s father lodged a complaint with us earlier in the day. His blood samples have been taken and a DNA test is due. He has been sent to a 14-day judicial custody and we have recorded the victim’s statement.”
Meanwhile, teachers of the college where Kumar taught for 10 years expressed disbelieve at the turn of events. Chand Sharma, principal, said, “It is a blotch on the teacher community. He has been removed with immediate effect.”
