Very light to light rain/snow has been forecast at isolated places especially in higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts while dry weather is likely prevail in rest of Uttarakhand on Friday and Saturday. Meteorological centre director Bikram Singh said that very light rainfall occurred at a few places in Uttarakhand. Hail storm occurred at isolated places. Light rain was reported at some places in Dehradun on Wednesday night while 6.1 mm each in Tehri and Mukteshwar and 0.1 mm in Pantnagar. However, dry climate is likely to return to Uttarakhand on March 5 and March 6.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperatures are markedly above normal in plains and normal in hills of Uttarakhand. The minimum temperatures are normal to above normal in plains and normal in hills of Uttarakhand. Highest maximum temperature 30.7°C was recorded at Pantnagar. Lowest minimum temperature 2.6°C was recorded at New Tehri.
Singh said that The weather forecast for Dehradun on Friday is clear sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 27ºC and 11ºC respectively in Dehradun on Friday.
