Literature Festival in Doon from Feb 17

The first edition of the two- day-long Dehradun Literature Fest will be held at Dehradun ONGC Officer’s Club from February 17 in course of which some of the finest and highly acclaimed Indian performers, writers, theatre personalities, business leaders and visual artistes would turn up.

Over the two days, 15 panel discussions on issues ranging from gender equality and politics to love and literature would see participation of a host of litterateurs, academics, journalists, artistes and musicians. Among the   eminent to participate are Piysh Mishra, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Ashok Chakradhar, Savi Sharam, Dr Rakshanda Jalil, Suchita Krishnamoorthi, Divya Prakash Dubey, Bijay Laxmi Nanda, Hridayesh Joshi, Richa Sambi and Raj Shekhar.

One of the organisers of the fest Samraant Virmani said that the fest will give an opportunity to the youngsters and the literature buffs to find creative outlets for the expression of their minds.   “Authors from across the country are taking part in it to lend it a creative vibrancy,” he added.

The owner of Book World, Randhir Arora said that the fest is an initiative to bring exposure to the education capital of India every year. “The celebrated authors who would turn up   will interact with the residents and the students from the Doon Valley to enrich them intellectually. It will be a wonderful platform to highlight literary trends too,” he said.
