A total of 39, 393 postal ballots of service voters and government employees deputed on election duty for State Assembly election- 2017, were received in various districts by February 25, said Uttarakhand chief electoral officer Radha Raturi on Saturday. The polling was held on February 15 and its counting would happen on March 11.
As per press note, a total of 39,393 postal ballots of service voters and election staffers were received which includes 3,143 postal ballots in Uttarkashi; 3,278 in Chamoli; 3,080 in Rudraprayag; 2,912 in Tehri; 5,264 in Dehradun; 2,460 in Haridwar; 5, 333 in Pauri; 3,180 in Pithoragarh; 2,048 in Bageshwar; 2,102 in Almora; 962 in Champawat; 2,094 in Nainital and 2,094 in Udham Singh Nagar.
The State Election Commission had released 95, 801 postal ballots for service voters for the assembly election 2017 which include 2,470 postal ballots for service voters in Uttarkashi 11; 661 in Chamoli; 5,430 in Rudraprayag; 5, 561 in Tehri; 9, 859 in Dehradun; 2,373 in Haridwar; 20,158 in Pauri Garhwal; 13,140 in Pithoragarh; 5,729 in Bageshwar; 5,322 in Almora; 3,224 in Champawat; 6,324 in Nainital and 4,550 in Udham Singh Nagar.
However, a total of 6,654 postal ballots were received in various districts by February 25 which includes 303 in Uttarkashi; 1,324 in Chamoli; 1, 173 in Rudraprayag; 350 in Tehri, 474 in Dehradun, 55 in Haridwar, 2,821 in Pauri, 82 in Pithoragarh, 22 in Bageshwar, 12 in Almora, four in Champawat, 20 in Nainital and 14 in Udham Singh Nagar.
She further said that a total of 47,315 postal ballots were released for election staffers which include 3,387 in Uttarakashi; 2,488 in Chamoli; 2,072 in Rudraprayag; 3,352 in Tehri; 6,632 in Dehradun; 5,074 in Haridwar; 3,587 in Pauri; 3, 377 in Pithoragarh; 2,225 in Bageshwar; 3,213 in Almora; 1,494 in Champawat; 4,268 in Nainital; 6,146 in Udham Singh Nagar.
By February 25, a total of 32,731 postal ballots were received in various districts which include 2, 840 in Uttarkashi; 1,954 in Chamoli; 1,907 in Rudraprayag; 2,562 in Tehri; 4,790 in Dehradun; 2, 398 in Haridwar; 2,512 in Pauri; 3,098 in Pithoragarh; 2,028 in Bageshwar; 2,030 in Bageshwar; 958 in Champawat; 2,074 in Nainital and 3,522 in Udham Singh Nagar.
Moreover, the state election commission had released 337 postal ballots including 260 for Haridwar and 77 for Udham Singh Nagar) through Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) out of which eight postal ballets (seven in Haridwar and one in Udham Singh Nagar) were received by February 25.
