1700 license may cancel by DM

Around 1700 licensed gun holders in the district who are yet to deposit their weapoin have been strictly directed to deposit their gun at police station in next 72 hours or their gun license will be cancelled, said Dehradun District Magistrate and DEO Ravinath Raman on Saturday.

Following on the direction of Election Commission of India and to conduct Assembly election 20017 peacefully, licensed holders were earlier informed to deposit their licensensed gun either in nearby police station or gun dealer.

As per data enclosed with the order, 969 licensed holders in Kotwali police station; 42 licensed holders in Vasant Vihar police station while 138 in Cantt, 361 in Dalanwala, 62 in Raipur, 17 in Nehru Colony, 82 in Rajpur, 28 in Clamant Town and nine in Mussoorie.
