Taking cognizance of the elderly farmer Dharam Singh, who was not able to get PM Kisan Samman Nidhi due to e-KYC verification, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami asked the officials to address his grievances with immediate effect. Now Dharam Singh will once again receive the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme after a gap of two years. Singh, a resident of Tuledi village in Lamgara block, was unable to complete his e-KYC due to issues with retina and thumb scans, which had prevented him from accessing the scheme.
The issue came to light when local residents posted Singh’s predicament on social media on Monday, the same day Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 17th installment of the Samman Nidhi from Delhi. The social media posts tagged CM Dhami and requested his intervention to resolve Singh’s e-KYC problem.
Upon learning of the situation, CM Dhami immediately directed the concerned officials to prioritize and resolve the issue. Private Secretary Shailesh Bagoli promptly acted on the Chief Minister’s instructions and directed local officials to ensure the elderly farmer’s e-KYC was completed without delay.
Top administrative officials swiftly visited Dharam Singh’s residence and successfully completed his e-KYC. As a result, Singh will soon start receiving the Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits once again, like other farmers in the region.
Expressing his gratitude, Dharam Singh thanked Chief Minister Dhami for his prompt action and for addressing his concern. “I am deeply grateful to the Chief Minister for resolving my problem so quickly. This assistance will significantly help me in managing my farming activities,” Singh said.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the welfare of the elderly, women, and the disabled. “Our government is fully dedicated to ensuring that every section of society benefits from various public welfare schemes. The double engine government aims to uplift and support every citizen, and we will continue to work tirelessly towards this goal,” Dhami stated.
This intervention by CM Dhami highlights the proactive and responsive approach of the Uttarakhand government in addressing the needs of its citizens, particularly the vulnerable and marginalized sections of society.
