DoPT has intimated to the state government that CBI will not investigate NH74 scam. As we know Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had informed to the house that DoPT has accepted the CBI recommendation. After inception of Trivendra Singh Rawat led BJP government CM had come across with anomalies in land acquisition for NH 74. Taking cognizance on it CM had recommended CBI enquiry on it. He had recommended the enquiry in April 2017. Since then opposition has been putting pressure on double engines government to conduct CBI enquiry.
State home department has acknowledged that they have received a letter from DoPT regarding NH74 enquiry.
What is NH 74 Scam?
Investigations revealed that Anil Shukla (SLAO) had forged documents to change the use of agricultural land to commercial land under Rule 143 of the zamindari act, that too in back dates while he was serving as the SDM of Bazpur. And Mohan Singh misused his authorities in several such cases while he was posted at Sitarganj tehsil.”
