Khel Mahakumbh to be organised by haryana govt

Thirty Five days long Khel Mahakumb is going to be organised by the haryana government in this month. It will begin at karnal on September 24 and will conclude at Hisar on October 28. In which 10000 players are supposed to participate.  The event is a part of Swarna jayanti celebration in Haryana. It will be inaugurated by the chief minister Manohar lal Khattar.

This was mentioned during a meeting of the coordination committee led by Chief Secretary D S Dhesi here on Monday.  District-level sports competitions will be held from September 26 to October 3 and state-level competitions would be held from October 5 to October 26.

To encourage maximum participation of people from rural and urban areas, state-level sports competitions will be organised in multiple categories which will include children under 14 years age group, elderly above 60 years age group and different-abled athletes, officials said.

Competitions in 22 sporting disciplines including archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, football, gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, netball, shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling and wushu will be organised.

Also, popular sports circle Kabaddi and Tug of War have been included to encourage local participation, officials said.
