The dera karseva chief of Nanakmatta Sahib Gurdwara in Uttarakhand was fatally shot by two assailants on a motorcycle within the shrine’s premises early Thursday, according to police reports. Baba Tarsem Singh was swiftly taken to a hospital in Khatima, where he succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by Udham Singh Nagar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manju Nath in a statement to the press. chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the departed soul and met with the bereaved families too.
“We have clear CCTV footage of the assailants, who are both Sikhs,” SSP Nath stated, further mentioning that they fled the scene following the attack.
Nanakmatta Sahib Gurdwara is a revered Sikh shrine situated along the Rudrapur-Tanakpur route in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand.
