Prithvi Shaw suffers ankle injury in warmup game; ruled out of 1st test

On the third day of the practice match against Cricket Australia XI on the Sydney Ground team India received a huge blow, opening batsman Prithvi Shaw has been injured. The BCCI has tweeted that he is out of the first Test.

The board said, “Shaw’s injury reports have been issued on Friday and in this case, he will not be able to play against Australia in Adelaide in the first Test match starting on December 6. To recover from this injury, he will go to the rehabilitation. The 19-year-old Prithvi, who played an impressive 66 runinnings, was injured in an attempt to catch the ball at deep midwicket boundary while fielding. His left ankle is hurt.
With the support of Team Physio Patrick Farhart and another, he was taken to the changing room. After this, seeing Prithvi in pain he was taken to the hospital for a scan. Earlier, the BCCI had tweeted that the medical team was evaluating the injury of Prithvi Shaw.
